Description

Redispersible latex powder is a polymer powder obtained by spray-drying vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion, specifically designed and produced for applications in China. It features stable quality and high cost-performance, suitable for the production of various dry mix mortars. It is a freely flowing white polymer powder that easily re-emulsifies in water, forming a stable emulsion. It can be mixed with other powdery materials like cement, sand, and lightweight aggregates in dry conditions at the factory, resulting in high-quality, easy-to-use dry mix cement mortars. This method helps reduce errors and inconvenience that may occur when mixing with liquid emulsions on-site.

Performance of Redispersible Latex Powder

  1. Increases Flexural and Tensile Strength:
    The polymer film formed by the redispersible latex powder has excellent flexibility. It forms a film in the gaps and on the surfaces of cement mortar particles, creating flexible connections, which makes the brittle and rigid cement mortar more elastic. Mortars containing redispersible latex powder have significantly higher tensile and flexural strength compared to regular mortars.
  2. Improves Adhesion Strength and Cohesion:
    As an organic binder, the redispersible latex powder forms a high-tensile strength and adhesion strength film on various substrates. It plays a crucial role in bonding mortar with organic materials (such as EPS and extruded polystyrene foam boards) and smooth surface substrates. The polymer film formed by the latex powder acts as a reinforcing material distributed throughout the mortar system, enhancing the cohesion of the mortar.
  3. Enhances Impact Resistance, Durability, and Abrasion Resistance:
